Support

We are here to help parents and guardians with StoryPic.

Current Backend and Older Builds

The backend now retires legacy cloud photo recognition, cloud text-to-speech, and weekly-email operations. Installed StoryPic version 3 (3.6) and earlier builds were designed to call those services and may lose those features.

The replacement client with on-device five-object matching and device narration is still pending release verification and is not yet available. Updating the backend or this website does not give an older app the planned client's local behavior.

Do not email child photos, child names, story text, passwords, or registration tokens. We may need to verify your authority before acting; an email request alone is not proof that deletion has completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did an older feature stop working?

Version 3 (3.6) and earlier builds use legacy cloud calls that the backend now retires. Cloud photo recognition, cloud narration, and weekly-email features may no longer work in those builds. This is an intentional service retirement for the privacy-first candidate, not evidence that older builds already perform those tasks locally.

What happens to historical weekly-email data?

Retiring email calls and stopping the scheduler do not automatically delete historical registrations or rows. Contact support for deletion assistance. Authenticated cleanup or verified support action can still be required.

How do I manage local profile data?

The parent area uses a local PIN. The app's local controls can edit profiles and settings or clear learning history. Operating-system backups can retain copies outside StoryPic's direct control.

How do I delete data?

Clear History removes selected learning history, Delete Profile removes a profile and its app-owned local data, and Delete Everything clears the app's main local state, including the parent PIN and saved content.

In the planned client, pending opaque credentials for authenticated legacy-email cleanup remain queued until the server confirms unregistering. Local deletion does not prove deletion from backups, operating-system caches, provider or infrastructure logs, or historical server records.

What will the planned release recognize?

Only cup, spoon, ball, book, and banana. A bundled classifier will suggest one for confirmation. If it is uncertain, wrong, or unavailable, the child or caregiver can use the five-object manual picker. The new client is not yet released.

Will planned narration always work offline?

No blanket guarantee is made. The planned client excludes voices reported as network-required or uninstalled, and web voices must report that they are local. Voice availability, download state, language support, metadata, and vendor processing depend on the operating system or voice provider.
